Soft Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies

People all over the world love chocolate chip cookies, and they have definitely become a very popular over the decades! Try out this awesome and delicious recipe for Soft Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies the next time you want to make a batch of chocolate chip cookies, with a twist! Chocolate chip cookies, are probably the most popular type of cookie out there, since they were the original fancy cookie after the plain sugar cookie that has been around for much longer. The chocolate chip cookie was invented by Ruth Graves Wakefield, who was the esteemed owner the Toll House Inn restaurant. Ruth was always known for making her delicious cookies for her guests at the Toll House Inn. It didn't take long before her well loved chocolate chip cookie recipe was published in a cook book in the 1930s, and then became even more popular, since people could then make them in the comfort of their own homes. Now, there is even Toll House Refrigerated Cookie Dough, that is pre made chocolate chip cookie dough that can be purchased in the grocery store and then baked at home. It cuts down on the time that it takes to measure out and mix all of the ingredients, and they definitely taste great every time. But those ones don't have pumpkin in them like these awesome cookies in this recipe do!

These special cookies have pumpkin in them if you can believe! You may have never thought about putting a vegetable like pumpkin in a cookie before, sure, we have pumpkin pie, but in a cookie? You wouldn't know there was pumpkin in these cookies by looking at them, maybe just a little bit, because they do have kind of a more orange colour to them. Martha from A Family Feast food blog, writes that this recipe is from her own personal recipe book, and is an old classic recipe of her mother's. The cookie dough uses pumpkin in it to make a cake like batter and the pumpkin also adds some extra moisture in the cookies to make them nice and soft.

They are almost cake like in texture, but a little denser too. These are perfect for fall time to use up some pumpkin meat if you have an abundance of pumpkins growing in your garden! You can make them after carving pumpkins for Halloween, that would be s really fun way to use up all of that pumpkin meat that would otherwise be discarded, My mom actually makes this recipe as well, and I can tell you first hand, these cookies are awesome!
